Born through the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, the idea of selling a homemade product online was pretty foreign to me. “You’ve got a boatload of beard oils here, surely you’re not the only one buying it,” my lovely partner, Georgia, announced one day, while pacing laps of the house (lockdown life). Job insecurity and boredom can do funny things to people! She was right though, and I found quickly that male grooming products are now more popular than ever.

  I’ve been in trades my whole life, and still am. I work for a large marine company in Auckland. I knew nothing about beard oil before lockdown, besides how much i needed it to tame my face, and keep the dreaded “Beard Itch” away through growth phases. Through some online digging, i was surprised to find that not all beard oils are created equally, and alot of people are missing out on the full benefits of these natural oils and the benefits they can have for your beard and skin. What surprised me even more, was that these “better” oils are all available locally! I had to see what all the fuss was about.

  Fast forward four months. Georgia now regrets her decision, as i have spend the majority of this time down a rabbit hole of late nights, handing testers to family members, friends and co-workers, and a barrage of invitations to “Sniff this”, “Open your palm”, and “Rub my beard.” Shes a trooper all right!
